Roof Collapse at Delhi Airport Injures Four During Heavy Rains
Four people were injured when a roof collapsed at Terminal-1 of Delhi airport during heavy rains. The injured were rescued and taken to the hospital, according to Delhi Fire Services.
Several cars were damaged by the falling roof parts. Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call at around 5:30 am.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu is personally monitoring the situation. He stated, “First responders are working at the site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing.”
The incident happened during a spell of heavy rains that caused severe waterlogging in various parts of Delhi-NCR, including Govindpuri and Noida Sector 95. The India Meteorological Department has forecasted more rain and gusty winds for the next seven days.
