Rohit Sharma’s Amazing 92 Runs Help India Beat Australia in T20 World Cup

Former England captain Nasser Hussain praised Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for his powerful 92-run innings against Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup. Rohit hit seven fours and eight sixes, helping India score 205/5 and win the match.

During the Men in Blue’s final Super Eights match against Australia, Rohit was determined to overcome the disappointment of last year’s 50-over World Cup final loss to Australia. He attacked Australia’s top bowlers, including Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, with a 41-ball 92.

Hussain, speaking on the Sky Sports podcast, highlighted a change in India’s T20 approach after their loss to England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals. This new aggressive style was evident in the 50-over World Cup and continued in the T20 World Cup, led by Rohit Sharma.

Hussain admired Rohit’s leadership and his focus on the team’s score and strike rate rather than personal milestones. Rohit’s 92 helped India put up 205/5 on the board and restricted Australia to 181/7, despite Travis Head’s 76 runs.

After Bangladesh’s loss to Afghanistan, Australia was eliminated from the tournament. Rohit has scored 191 runs in six matches with an average of 38.20 and a strike rate of 159.16. India will next face England in the semifinals at Guyana on Thursday.
