Providence [Guyana], June 28: In an exciting match at the Providence Stadium, Captain Rohit Sharma’s fifty and powerful performances by Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja helped India score 171/7 against defending champions England in their ICC T20 World Cup semi-final on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma started strong with a boundary in the first over. However, India faced an early setback when Reece Topley bowled out Virat Kohli for 9 in the third over. Despite this, Rohit continued to play aggressively, hitting two boundaries in the fifth over. After five overs, India was at 40/1.

Sam Curran then dismissed Rishabh Pant, who was caught by Jonny Bairstow for 4. Rain interrupted the game for over an hour, and India was at 65/2 after eight overs. Rohit brought up his half-century with a magnificent six, and he and Suryakumar Yadav built a 73-run partnership. Suryakumar scored 47 runs, and Rohit was eventually dismissed for 57 by Adil Rashid.

In the 18th over, Hardik Pandya hit Chris Jordan for two consecutive sixes before being dismissed for 23. Jordan also took the wicket of Shivam Dube for a duck. In the final two overs, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja helped India reach a competitive total. Jadeja remained unbeaten with 17 runs, and India finished at 171/7.
