Rohit Sharma Hits 200 Sixes in T20I, Leads India to Victory Against Australia

India’s captain Rohit Sharma made history by becoming the first player to hit 200 sixes in T20I cricket during a match against Australia in St Lucia. Rohit scored an impressive 92 runs off just 41 balls, including eight towering sixes, leading India to a total of 205/5.

This remarkable performance came after India suffered a heartbreaking loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final last year. Rohit took revenge by single-handedly driving India’s scoreboard with his powerful hitting.

Rohit’s closest competitor in the number of sixes is former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, who has 173 sixes to his name. This innings is not only Rohit’s highest score in the T20 World Cup but also the second-highest individual score for India in the tournament’s history. The highest individual score for India in the T20 World Cup is held by Suresh Raina, who scored 101 against South Africa 14 years ago on the same ground.

Overall, as a captain, this was the second-highest individual score in the T20 World Cup. Former West Indies captain Chris Gayle holds the record with a knock of 98 against India in 2019 in Bridgetown.

Rohit’s heroics, along with valuable contributions from the rest of the players, powered India to a total of 205/5.
