Rohini Court Grants Bail to Doctor Couple in Abortion Case

The Rohini Sessions Court in New Delhi has granted anticipatory bail to a male doctor and regular bail to his wife, a female doctor, in connection with a case involving allegations of illegal abortions.

Details of the Case

Sessions Judge Jitendra Singh noted that there had never been any complaints against the female doctor under the PNDT Act or for illegal termination of pregnancies. The female doctor cooperated with the investigation by providing all necessary records.

Allegations and Investigation

The complainant alleged that her boyfriend, who is also a co-accused, had her undergo three abortions in May, October, and December 2023 at the clinic of the female doctor. However, during raids, no evidence of these abortions was found.

Advocates Ravi Drall and Aditi Drall, representing the doctors, presented the clinic’s abortion registry, which showed no evidence against the female doctor. Consequently, she was granted regular bail.

Statements from the Defense

Advocate Aditi Drall argued that the female doctor, aged 57 and a gynecologist with 15 years of experience, was falsely implicated. She had no knowledge of the alleged incidents and had cooperated fully with the investigation.

The male doctor, who had no allegations against him, was granted anticipatory bail.
