Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden Exit Wimbledon 2024 in Second Round

Star Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden were defeated in the second round of Wimbledon 2024. The Indo-Aussie duo lost to Germany’s Hendrik Jebens and Constantin Frantzen with scores of 6-3, 7-6(7-4). The match lasted for one hour and 18 minutes.

Bopanna and Ebden struggled in the opening stage, allowing their opponents to take a 4-1 lead. Although they managed to pull back to 5-3, they couldn’t prevent Jebens and Frantzen from winning the first set. The second set was closely contested, ending in a tie-break where Jebens and Frantzen secured a 7-4 victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Indian player Yuki Bhambri and his French partner Albano Olivetti also exited in the second round. They lost to Germany’s Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz with scores of 6-4, 4-6, 3-6. Bhambri and Olivetti won the first set but couldn’t maintain their lead, eventually losing the match.

With these defeats, India’s campaign at Wimbledon 2024 came to an end as Bopanna, Bhambri, N Balaji, and Sumit Nagal were all ousted from the tournament.
