Rockets Fired from Lebanon Target Israel’s Haifa Amid Rising Tensions
In a significant escalation of tensions in West Asia, around 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon, targeting Israel’s northern region. Sirens blared on Shivtei Israel Street in Haifa, close to the Lebanon border, as the rockets crossed into Israeli territory. The Israeli Air Force managed to intercept some of the projectiles, but several landed in the area, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
Reports indicate that five individuals were injured by shrapnel in the Haifa area. The Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service transported a 16-year-old boy and four adults in their 40s and 50s to Rambam Hospital. Additionally, a 36-year-old cyclist was lightly injured in a car crash during the sirens and was also taken to the hospital.
Earlier, the Israeli Defense Forces reported the elimination of at least 50 Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, including six senior commanders, following extensive airstrikes on underground Hezbollah headquarters in southern Lebanon. Among those killed were Ahmed Hassan Nazal, Hasin Talal Kamal, Musa Diav Barakat, Mahmoud Musa Karniv, Ali Ahmed Ismail, and Abdullah Ali Dakik, who held various command roles in the region.
