New Delhi, India – Businessman Robert Vadra responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments made during a rally in Sonipat. Modi accused previous Congress governments in Haryana of encouraging corruption and claimed that jobs required personal recommendations during their rule.

Vadra expressed surprise at Modi’s remarks, stating, “I’m quite surprised that once again the Prime Minister has used my name. They’ve had their government in Haryana as well as at the Centre. I know that in the last decade, they have set up commissions.” He referred to the Dhingra Commission, which investigated him and his companies, and mentioned multiple RTIs questioning his land ownership in Haryana.

Vadra claimed that despite numerous inquiries and notices, nothing was proven against him. “They cannot prove anything because there was no wrongdoing in the way my companies have functioned,” he said. He also criticized Modi’s tone, calling it “in poor taste” and said, “We expect much more from him.”

Vadra accused Modi of using his name to divert attention from the government’s failures in Haryana. He stated, “I think he has nothing else to offer or say for the people of Haryana because the people of Haryana are not happy with this government.” Vadra pointed out that he had received two clean chits from the government, proving his innocence.

Regarding the upcoming elections in Haryana, Vadra expressed confidence in the Congress party’s chances. He criticized the BJP’s handling of various issues, including an alleged molestation case involving BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and women wrestlers. Vadra also criticized the government for failing to address unemployment and infrastructure development. He predicted a large margin of victory for Congress in Haryana, stating, “The people want change, and it’s going to be inevitable.”

During his address in Sonipat, Prime Minister Modi alleged that Congress is “entrenched in corruption.” He claimed that ten years ago, under Congress rule, farmers’ lands were looted, and jobs required cheating. Modi said, “The Congress had handed over Haryana to Dalals and Damads. There was no job that could be attained without cheating, and there was no organisation free of corruption.”
