Robert Vadra and Rahul Gandhi React to Haryana Election Results

In New Delhi, businessman Robert Vadra expressed surprise over the BJP’s victory in the Haryana state assembly elections. He mentioned that farmers and women wrestlers he spoke with were also surprised by the results. Vadra supported Congress’ concerns about electronic voting machines (EVMs) in some areas, accusing the BJP of using his name for political gain. He emphasized the need for the elected leaders to focus on the state’s development.

Vadra, who is not actively involved in politics, stated that he has been drawn into political discussions over the years. He agreed with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about EVM issues, noting that some machines showed 99% battery life, which was unusual. Despite exit polls predicting a Congress majority, the BJP won 48 out of 90 seats, while Congress secured 37 seats.

Rahul Gandhi described the election results as “unexpected” and assured that complaints from various constituencies would be addressed with the Election Commission. He thanked the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their support, calling it a victory for the Constitution and democratic values. Gandhi also expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana and pledged to continue fighting for social and economic justice.
