Rishabh Pant Denies Rumors of Joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Rishabh Pant, the captain of Delhi Capitals (DC) and a star wicketkeeper-batter for India, has addressed rumors linking him to the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Pant called these rumors ‘fake news’ on his official X handle.
Pant was a major highlight in the 17th edition of the IPL, returning to cricket after a 14-month recovery from a severe car accident in December 2022. In IPL 2024, he played 13 matches and scored 446 runs. Despite his efforts, Delhi Capitals finished sixth with seven wins, seven losses, and 14 points, failing to reach the playoffs.
On social media, Pant criticized a fan page for spreading false information about his potential move to RCB. He urged fans to verify their sources and avoid creating an ‘untrustworthy environment.’
Pant also made a notable return to the Indian cricket team during the T20 World Cup 2024, scoring 171 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 127.61. He returned to Test cricket in a series against Bangladesh, scoring 109 runs in the second inning of the second match. Pant is expected to be part of India’s playing eleven for the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur, starting Friday.
