Revanth Reddy and Aaditya Thackeray Visit Temple and Hold Roadshow in Worli

On Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Aaditya Thackeray, a candidate from the Shiv Sena (UBT) for the Worli Assembly seat, visited the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Worli, Mumbai. Following their visit, they conducted a roadshow ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections.

Political Rivalry in Worli

Milind Deora and Aaditya Thackeray are competing for the Worli seat, with Thackeray currently serving as the MLA. Earlier, both leaders engaged in a heated exchange on social media, discussing the need for open debates on Mumbai’s development and political issues.

Challenge for Public Debate

Milind Deora, a senior leader in the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, challenged Aaditya Thackeray to a public debate. Deora suggested discussing topics like the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s alleged misgovernance, Mumbai Metro delays, and the economic impact of the Sachin Vaze scandal.

Deora stated, “Worlikars should decide whether ‘speed breaker politics’ or ‘progress without speed limits’ is the best way forward for our city & state.”

Concerns Over Debate Cancellations

Aaditya Thackeray criticized the cancellation of debate events for South Mumbai candidates, allegedly due to police concerns about potential clashes. He questioned the use of agencies to prevent debates, emphasizing the tradition of debates in South Mumbai.

Upcoming Elections

The Worli constituency will witness a high-profile contest between Milind Deora and Aaditya Thackeray. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has also fielded Sandeep Deshpande as a candidate. The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.

The opposition MVA coalition, including Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party, aims to challenge the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which comprises the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
