In New Delhi, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President and ITC Chairman, Sanjiv Puri, expressed his condolences on the passing of Ratan Tata, calling him a legend in the Indian industry. Puri highlighted Tata’s pursuit of excellence, commitment to social responsibility, and pioneering spirit that elevated Indian industry globally. He described Tata as a mentor and guide, whose humility and integrity will inspire future generations.

Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII, praised Tata as a leader, nation-builder, philanthropist, and global entrepreneur. Banerjee noted Tata’s insightful advice and belief in Indian business capabilities. Tata’s role in establishing the India Business Trust for AIDS was also acknowledged, and he was the first recipient of the CII President’s Award.

Former CII President R Dinesh and TVS Supply Chain Solutions Chairman, expressed that Tata’s contributions to the nation and industry will be remembered. Sanjiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, admired Tata’s humility and support for young entrepreneurs. Naushad Forbes, Chairman of Forbes Marshall, mourned Tata’s loss, recalling his innovative ideas and philanthropy.
