Reeza Hendricks Joins MI Cape Town for SA20 Season 3
In Cape Town, South Africa, the SA20 cricket league has reached new heights with a successful third auction. Over 580 players applied for the 13 available slots, along with six Rookie draft picks.

Reeza Hendricks, the Cricket SA T20 Cricketer of the Year, was the most sought-after player. He was picked by MI Cape Town for 4.3 million South African Rand after a bidding war with Pretoria Capitals. MI Cape Town also signed Colin Ingram and Dane Piedt.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape added paceman Okuhle Cele and English seamer Richard Gleeson for 2.3 million South African Rand. Pretoria Capitals, under new coach Jonathan Trott, signed West Indies opener Evin Lewis, Marques Ackerman, and all-rounder Kyle Simmons.
Durban’s Super Giants, with new coach Allan Donald, signed West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph. Joburg Super Giants recruited Wihan Lubbe and Evan Jones, while Paarl Royals picked wicketkeeper batter Rubin Hermann.

The third season will start in less than 100 days, with defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape facing MI Cape Town at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on January 9, 2025.
