Rebuilding Narayanpur-Sonpur-Chhotebethia Road: A Step Towards Eradicating Naxalism in Chhattisgarh

The Narayanpur-Sonpur-Chhotebethia road in Chhattisgarh, India, is being reconstructed after years of closure due to Naxal-related violence. This development is part of the government’s efforts to improve the area. SP Narayanpur, Prabhat Kumar, highlighted the historical significance of the road, which dates back to the 1950s, and the challenges faced due to Naxalism. Initially, the villagers of Horadi opposed the construction due to fear of Naxals, but now they support it as government facilities reach the area.

Vasu Jain, CEO of the District Panchayat, confirmed that basic facilities are being provided to Horadi’s residents. Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Raman Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism, supported by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Singh noted the success of joint operations against Naxalites, with 190 Naxalites killed in the past year, demonstrating the government’s determination to eliminate Naxalism.

The reconstruction of the road is progressing, bringing essential services to Horadi village, marking a significant step in the region’s development and security.
