Reasi Police Detain 12 Suspects for Vandalizing Temple in Jammu and Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir police have detained 12 suspects in connection with the vandalization of a temple in the Darmari area of Arnas, Reasi district. A case has been registered under section 295 of the IPC.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to handle the case. Sharing the details, SSP Sharma conveyed that around 12 suspects have been rounded up for questioning, and further investigation is underway. She appealed to the people of Reasi to remain calm and maintain peace and communal harmony in the area.

Reasi Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Iftekhar stated that anti-social elements trying to disturb Hindu-Muslim brotherhood will be caught. He mentioned that the incident occurred at 7:30 pm in the Dharmadi area, where an unknown person tried to vandalize a temple. The police have registered a case and apprehended three suspects initially, with more identified and being questioned.

The SSP has also formed a Special Investigation Team to address the sensitivity of the matter, with DSP-level officers looking into it. Reasi Police is working to identify and punish the culprits under the law to maintain peace.
