In Mumbai, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das paid his last respects to the late industrialist Ratan Tata, praising him as a visionary and a champion of ethical corporate governance. Das highlighted Tata’s significant contributions to India’s economic history.

Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla also expressed his condolences, describing Tata’s passing as a great loss for the country. He remembered Tata as a sober and frugal individual who always prioritized the nation’s interests.

Entrepreneur Ananya Birla joined in the tributes, expressing her hope to continue Tata’s legacy through hard work and dedication.

The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, passed a resolution urging the central government to award Ratan Tata the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, in recognition of his achievements. The state declared a day of mourning and arranged for Tata’s last rites to be conducted with full state honors.

Ratan Tata, who passed away at the age of 86, was a prominent figure in the Tata Group and was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. His contributions to philanthropy and business have left a lasting impact on India and the world.
