New Delhi [India], July 7: India and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and former cricketer Suresh Raina wished the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his 43rd birthday on Sunday.

Dhoni, known for his calm and stunning captaincy skills, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on August 15, 2020, ending an illustrious career. Jadeja took to social media to wish Dhoni, writing, “Happy birthday to my only favourite person in cricket, Mahi bhai. Your presence is the greatest gift. Lots of love.”

Raina also shared a photo of his and Dhoni’s family on X, wishing him on his special day.

Under Dhoni’s leadership, India achieved top prizes in all formats, including the 50-over World Cup in 2011 and the T20 World Cup in 2007. Dhoni’s journey from a ticket collector to India’s biggest trophy collector is one of the most inspiring in sports history.

Dhoni made his international debut in 2004 and became known for his aggressive batting and later as a finisher with calculated aggression. He played 98 T20Is for India, scoring 1,617 runs, and 90 Test matches, scoring 4,876 runs. As a captain, he led India in 60 Test matches, winning 27.

Dhoni also led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles and two CLT20 titles. He played 264 IPL matches, scoring 5,243 runs. With his remarkable statistics and success as a captain, Dhoni remains a unique phenomenon in cricket.
