Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja Shine in India’s Big Win Over Bangladesh
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 22: Star India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin praised his teammate Ravindra Jadeja, calling him ‘one of the best batters in the Indian team.’ Ashwin was named ‘Player of the Match’ in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.
In the first inning, Ashwin scored 113 runs from 133 balls, and in the second inning, he took six wickets, helping India secure a 280-run victory. Jadeja also played a crucial role, scoring 86 runs from 124 balls and taking five wickets in the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Speaking on JioCinema, Ashwin mentioned that in the past four years, both he and Jadeja have enjoyed each other’s success more. He added that Jadeja helps to calm the dressing room when he enters.
Recapping the match, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first. India struggled initially, with the top-order collapsing to 34/3. However, a 62-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, followed by a 199-run partnership between Ashwin and Jadeja, helped India reach 376 in 91.2 overs.
Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed were the top bowlers, taking crucial wickets. In their first innings, Bangladesh was all out for 149 runs, trailing by 227 runs. In their second innings, centuries from Gill and Pant helped India set a massive target of 515 runs for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh started their run-chase well but eventually fell short, with Ashwin and Jadeja taking key wickets. Ashwin ended with figures of 6/88, while Jadeja took 3/58, leading India to a comprehensive win.
