Ravi Kishan Defends PM Modi Amid Opposition’s Constitution Allegations

BJP MP Ravi Kishan has rejected the opposition’s claims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi disrespects the Constitution. He emphasized that PM Modi has always respected the Constitution and urged opposition MPs to act responsibly in Parliament.

Ravi Kishan stated, “PM Modi has always respected the Constitution. They won one time by lying but this lie (of changing the Constitution) will not work again. They will reach their original figure again.” He also asked opposition MPs to avoid disruptive behavior like tearing bills, hooting, or throwing papers.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of attacking the Constitution. He stated, “The attack that the PM and Amit Shah are launching on the Constitution is not acceptable to us, we will not let this happen.” Opposition leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, protested in Parliament holding copies of the Constitution.

Prime Minister Modi, addressing the media, referenced the 1975 Emergency as a ‘blot’ on democracy, saying, “Tomorrow is 25th June. 25th June marks 50 years of the blot that was put on the democracy of India. The new generation of India will never forget that the Constitution of India was completely rejected.” He emphasized the importance of protecting democratic traditions and fulfilling the dreams of the common people as per the Constitution.

Amid the controversy, opposition leaders protested inside the Parliament premises holding copies of the Constitution.
