Rana Sanaullah Criticizes PTI’s Planned Protest During SCO Summit in Islamabad

In Islamabad, Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, has criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party for planning a protest on October 15. He described PTI as a group that believes in anarchism, not a political party. The protest is scheduled to coincide with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, which runs from October 15-16.

Sanaullah accused PTI of attempting to disrupt the summit and claimed that anti-Pakistan forces are active against the country’s interests. He urged that PTI leaders and supporters should be confined to their traditional bases.

PTI, founded by Imran Khan, announced the protest after a political committee meeting. Sheikh Waqas Akram, PTI’s central information secretary, stated that a powerful protest would occur at D-Chowk in Islamabad. He also called for the release of detained PTI workers and leaders in Punjab and criticized the government’s actions against the party.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commented on the situation, stating that the PTI’s protest is reminiscent of a 2014 sit-in that disrupted the country during a planned visit by the Chinese president. He promised that such disruptions would not be tolerated.
