Ramesh Chennithala Meets Uddhav Thackeray: Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Unity and Health Assured
In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, who is in charge of the Maharashtra elections, met with Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray. Chennithala assured that both Thackeray’s health and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance are in good condition. He stated, “I met Uddhav Thackeray today. He was in the hospital recently, so I went to inquire about his health. ‘Vo ab theek hai aur Maha Vikas Aghadi ka bhi tabeyat theek hai.”
Chennithala emphasized that there are no differences within the MVA, and they are united. Discussions on seat sharing are scheduled for 3 pm, involving Nana Patole, Sanjay Raut, and Jayant Patil. Previously, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut mentioned plans to discuss seat-sharing with Rahul Gandhi, highlighting pending decisions on several seats.
Raut noted that while there are no major differences between the NCP and Shiv Sena or within Congress, some seats are contested by all three parties. He expressed the need for a swift resolution. The MVA, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT, and NCP-SP, is preparing to face the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20, with results on November 23.
In the 2019 elections, the MVA coalition won 154 out of 288 seats. This time, the alliance aims to counter the BJP-led Mahayuti. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the MVA secured 30 out of 48 seats, while the ruling alliance won 17, with one seat going to an Independent candidate.
