Ram Naresh Singh and Surendra Babbar Appointed as Pro-Tem Members of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission
The Delhi Government has appointed Ram Naresh Singh and Surendra Babbar as pro-tem members of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). Chief Minister Atishi administered the oath of office and secrecy to both members.
Atishi congratulated the new appointees, stating, “Their experience and expertise will be invaluable in strengthening Delhi’s power sector. Wishing them both success in this important role.”
The appointments were made following a selection process by a Supreme Court-appointed panel. Atishi emphasized the importance of the power sector and the continuous efforts of the AAP government over the past decade to improve it. She added, “We are committed to providing 24×7 electricity to the people of Delhi by making our power infrastructure stronger. The appointment of pro-tem members is an important step in this direction.”
Ram Naresh Singh is an electrical engineer who has served as the Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation. Surendra Babbar is currently the Executive Director (Finance) at Delhi Transco Limited.
