Rajya Sabha to Discuss Union Budget and Jammu & Kashmir Budget 2024-25

New Delhi, India – A general discussion on the Union Budget and the budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be held in the Rajya Sabha later on Wednesday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented both budgets on July 23.

Importance of the Budgets

The Union Budget outlines the government’s revenue and expenditure plans for the upcoming fiscal year, while the budget for Jammu and Kashmir addresses the developmental needs of the Union Territory.

Scheduled Discussions

The discussion on these budgets is expected to start in the second half of the day. Ministers Jayant Chaudhary, Pankaj Chaudhary, Nityanand Rai, and Sukanta Majumdar will lay papers on the table for their respective ministries. Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Mody will present several Public Accounts Committee reports.
