New Delhi, India – On Saturday, Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, took over as the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Upon his arrival at the CISF Headquarters, he was welcomed by senior officers including Praveer Ranjan, Kundan Krishnan, and PS Ranpise. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to mark the occasion.

After assuming charge, Bhatti interacted with senior officers and chaired a meeting to review the CISF’s functioning. He emphasized his commitment to enhancing professionalism and welfare measures within the Force. Bhatti outlined his vision to strengthen CISF capabilities in safeguarding critical infrastructure like airports and nuclear installations, while also prioritizing the well-being of the personnel.

Rajwinder Singh Bhatti is the 31st DG of the CISF. Before this, he served as the Director General of Bihar Police, where he was known for his strategic acumen and leadership. An IPS officer from the 1990 batch in the Bihar Cadre, Bhatti is a Chartered Accountant with an M.Phil degree. In his 34-year career, he has held numerous important positions in Bihar and on Central Deputation to the Government of India.

He has served as the City Superintendent of Police (SP) of Patna and SP in Jehanabad, Gopalganj, and Purnia. He has also held key positions such as SP of Siwan, Inspector-General (IG) of Patna Zone, and IG (security). During his Central Deputation, he was the Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in the Air Authority of India (AAI).

Bhatti’s extensive experience in diverse roles has equipped him with a profound understanding of security management, operational strategy, and public administration. He has been honored with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2006 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2014.
