Rajnath Singh Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Caste Census Proposal in Jharkhand

During an election campaign in Jharkhand, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized Rahul Gandhi’s proposal for a caste-based census. Singh questioned Gandhi’s intentions, suggesting that he is trying to distract the public. He challenged Gandhi to present a clear plan on how reservations would be divided among eligible castes.

At a rally in Godda, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the caste census would transform India by highlighting the representation of tribals, Dalits, and OBCs in institutions. He also promised to remove the 50% reservation cap.

Singh also addressed Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir’s promise of subsidized LPG for ‘infiltrators,’ stating that the BJP plans to identify and deport them. He highlighted that Jharkhand has seen 13 Chief Ministers, with three jailed, but none from the BJP have faced corruption charges.

Singh predicted a BJP-NDA victory in Jharkhand, criticizing the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance for corruption. He accused Hemant Soren of removing Champai Soren as Chief Minister for personal gain, leading to widespread corruption, including bribery for death certificates.
