Rajnath Singh Announces MoU Between Indian Railways’ Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and Indian Air Force

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indian Railways’ Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) and the Indian Air Force. This agreement aims to create an efficient logistics system for the armed forces and support India’s goal of becoming self-reliant in the defense sector.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Rajnath Singh and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. It will help the Indian Army and Indian Air Force enhance their logistics operations and develop in-house expertise. This initiative aligns with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022.

Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of logistics in military operations and national security. He stated, “An efficient logistic system will quickly mobilize armed forces and help in transporting resources to the correct place within a short time.”

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the industry-focused curriculum of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. He mentioned that Airbus will be hiring 15,000 engineers from the university, with the course curriculum tailored to meet Airbus’s requirements.

The event was attended by senior officers from the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways, including the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Force Chief, Army Chief, Defence Secretary, Chairman of the Railway Board, and the Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya is India’s first university dedicated to the transportation and logistics sectors, offering applied education, training, and research to build top-quality manpower.
