After the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, arrived in Mumbai, they celebrated their T20 World Cup victory with an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium. Fans turned up in large numbers, dancing and celebrating the team’s success.

Thackeray’s Remark

Aaditya Thackeray mentioned that Mumbai sent a strong message to the BCCI, suggesting that the World Cup final should be held in the state. He expressed this sentiment on social media, stating, “Never take away a World Cup final from Mumbai!”

Rajeev Shukla thanked the people of Mumbai for their support and explained that the decision on the final venue is based on rotation and stadium capacity. He noted that other cities like Kolkata have also hosted finals and that Mumbai remains a priority for BCCI.
