Rajasthan’s New Budget: Finance Minister Diya Kumari and CM Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Plans

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, met with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at his residence in Jaipur to finalize the state budget for 2024-25. The meeting included additional chief secretary Akhil Arora and other officials.

Diya Kumari will present the state budget on July 10. She stated that the budget has been prepared with all sections of society in mind, aiming to meet the expectations of the people. She emphasized that the government has worked hard on the budget and there are significant announcements for everyone.

The budget comes at a crucial time as the BJP lost 11 out of 25 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, and there are upcoming by-elections for five seats. Rajasthan Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary highlighted plans to introduce bills for water recycling and STP treatment for cleaning purposes. Campaigns to raise public awareness about water conservation will be launched, and brand ambassadors will be appointed. Additionally, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has set a target of planting 7 crore plants.

However, Rajasthan Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie expressed low expectations from the budget, citing the government’s past performance.
