Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Explores Business Opportunities in South Korea
Seoul, South Korea – On the second day of a high-level delegation visit led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, several South Korean companies showed interest in expanding their businesses in Rajasthan. The delegation included top officials from the Government of Rajasthan.
Key Meetings and Interests
Leading South Korean firms like Samsung Healthcare, LX International, Orion Corporation, and Hyosung Corporation expressed their interest in various sectors:
- Samsung Healthcare: Interested in collaborating with Rajasthan’s Medical and Health Department to provide AI-based healthcare devices.
- Orion Corporation: Discussed growth plans for its existing manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi.
- LX International: Showed interest in mining opportunities for limestone, silica, gypsum, lignite, rare earth minerals, and renewable energy.
- Hyosung Corporation: Keen on localizing carbon fiber production in India.
Roundtable with Korean Stone Association
The delegation participated in a roundtable with the Korean Stone Association to discuss technological cooperation, purchasing, distribution, and export of stones produced in Rajasthan. A delegation from the Korean Stone Association will visit Rajasthan in October and attend India Stone Mart 2026 in Jaipur.
Visit to Seoul Technical High School
Chief Minister Sharma visited Seoul Technical High School to explore collaboration with Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation. He witnessed student innovation, advanced technical centers, and AI technology being taught in classrooms. Sharma emphasized the importance of skill development for youth employment.
“The focus on imparting skill development is key to provide employment to the youth. The knowledge gained by practical implementation of the skills and vocational training makes the youth more dynamic and hands-on in addition to the theoretical understanding. I welcome this esteemed institution to visit Rajasthan and set up an institution in the state,” said Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Upcoming ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024
The delegation will proceed to Japan to prepare for the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, scheduled for December 9-11, 2024, in Jaipur. The summit aims to attract global investment, innovation, and partnerships in various sectors, including Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Education, Skilling, Auto and EV, Infrastructure, Chemical and Petro-chemical, Tourism, Startups, Mining, and IT.
The summit is organized with the support of the Industry and Commerce Department, Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), and RIICO, with BIP serving as the nodal department.
