Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Announces Special Reservations for Agniveers

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced that the government will provide reservations for Agniveers in the police department, as well as for prison guards and forest guards, after they complete their service in the Indian Army. This announcement was made on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Sharma said, “I bow down in front of the bravehearts of the Kargil War on its 25th anniversary, who sacrificed themselves for their motherland. On PM Modi’s Agniveer scheme, our Rajasthan government has decided to give them reservations in the police department and as prison guards and forest guards.”

Other States Follow Suit

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced that his government will recruit most Agniveers into the state police. He stated, “Bharat will ensure the Opposition’s mission – to weaken the Indian Army by spreading lies on Agnipath Scheme – is defeated. Assam stands firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s efforts to modernise @adgpi. Govt of Assam has decided to absorb most Agniveers from the State into the @assampolice.”

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a 10 per cent quota and five-year age relaxation for Agniveers in uniform services. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also announced reservations for Agniveer Jawans in the recruitment of police and armed forces in the state.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Agniveers will be given weightage in recruitment for the UP Police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) forces. He mentioned that the nation would benefit from having trained and disciplined young soldiers in the form of Agniveers.

National Level Support

Ex-Agniveers will get a 10 per cent reservation, age relaxation, and exemption from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Services Selection Board (SSB), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Director General (DG) CRPF Anish Dayal Singh confirmed that the CRPF has made all arrangements to recruit ex-Agniveers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the Agnipath scheme during his address in Ladakh’s Kargil on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He highlighted that the goal of Agnipath was to make the Army young and continuously fit for war, addressing a long-standing demand for major reforms in the defence sector.
