Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Signs Big Deal for Renewable Energy and Infrastructure

The state government of Rajasthan, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has signed a significant agreement with the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) to secure financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh crore. This funding will support various infrastructure projects, including water, irrigation, and electricity.

Renewable Energy Initiatives

Chief Minister Sharma announced the virtual inauguration of a 400 MW solar power plant in Jaisalmer by ReNew, a leading renewable energy company. The remaining 200 MW of this project will be operational by October, boosting the state’s renewable energy capacity and reducing electricity costs for consumers.

Additionally, the state has signed MoUs for an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore for 28,500 MW of renewable energy and 3,325 MW of thermal projects. A 600 MW solar energy purchase agreement has also been signed between Rajasthan Energy Development Corporation and SJVN.

Infrastructure Development

HUDCO will provide a loan of Rs 20,000 crore per year for the next five years to support infrastructure projects. A cheque for Rs 1,577 crore was handed over to the Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (RWSSC) for the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari praised Chief Minister Sharma’s leadership, stating that the state is rapidly moving towards development. She highlighted the new dimensions of progress being established in various fields under his guidance.
