In a recent cabinet meeting, the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made significant decisions to benefit state employees. The gratuity and death gratuity for state employees have been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

Health Scheme Benefits

Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa announced that male and female employees can now include either of their dependent parents or in-laws in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). This change will be implemented by amending Rule 3(9) of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Medical Care) Rules, 2013.

Family Pension and Promotions

The cabinet also decided to provide family pension benefits at an increased rate for 10 years in case of an employee’s death while in service. Amendments to Rules 55 and 62 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1996 will be effective from April 1, 2024.

Additionally, amendments to the Rajasthan District Court Clerical Class Establishment Rules 1986 and Rajasthan Subordinate Court (Driver and Class IV Employee) Service Rules, 2017 were approved. These changes will allow promotions for clerical personnel, drivers, and Class IV employees who were previously deprived due to having more than two children.

New Railway Line

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel announced the construction of a new railway line connecting Shrinathdwara to Mewar and Marwar. The project will be expedited in collaboration with the Central Government, and 42.1576 hectares of land in Rajsamand district have been allocated for the Nathdwara-Devgarh-Madaria gauge conversion project.
