Jaipur, Rajasthan – On July 10, Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari presented the state’s budget for 2024-25. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized that the budget aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India, known as ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Key Announcements

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that the government will provide 4 lakh jobs to youths, with 1 lakh jobs to be given within a year. The budget also includes plans to open sports colleges and organize ‘Khelo Rajasthan’ at the district level. The government aims to prepare for the 2036 Olympics to give talented youths from villages a chance to shine.

Reactions from Leaders

Deputy CM Diya Kumari stated that the budget considers all sections of society, including youths, women, farmers, and infrastructure. She mentioned that the budget for infrastructure has been increased by 1.5 times to support the vision of a developed Rajasthan by 2047.

BJP leader Rajendra Rathore described the budget as the ‘Aditya Budget’, highlighting the significant capital expenditure aimed at transforming Rajasthan into an advanced state. Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi noted that the government has fulfilled promises such as providing affordable cylinders, reducing fuel prices, and increasing pensions.

Budget Highlights

The estimated revenue for 2024-25 is Rs 2.64 lakh crores, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 2.90 lakh crores. The budget focuses on making Rajasthan a 350-billion-dollar economy, improving basic amenities, empowering farmers, developing MSMEs and big industries, conserving heritage, promoting health for all, providing social security, and establishing good governance.
