Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Launches Health Campaigns
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has introduced three important health campaigns in Rajasthan: the National Pulse Polio Campaign, the Chief Minister Stop Diarrhea Campaign 2024, and the ABHA ID Creation Campaign. The launch event was held at the Chief Minister’s residence, with Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar also present.
National Pulse Polio Campaign
To kick off the National Pulse Polio Campaign, Chief Minister Sharma administered polio drops to children. This campaign aims to immunize around 1.07 crore children under the age of five against polio across the state.
Chief Minister Stop Diarrhea Campaign 2024
The Stop Diarrhea Campaign will run from July 1 to August 31. Medical personnel will visit homes to provide advice and medicines to prevent diarrhea-related diseases in children.
ABHA ID Creation Campaign
The ABHA ID Creation Campaign is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a health savings account initiative by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). It provides financial assistance for healthcare needs to economically weaker sections. Each ABHA ID is linked to a citizen’s Aadhaar or mobile number and features a unique 14-digit identification number for digital storage and accessibility of health information.
Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS)
The Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) guidelines, updated in 2022, set quality benchmarks for public health facilities. These standards ensure consistent, accessible, and accountable healthcare services nationwide. The Health Ministry has developed a dashboard to help health institutions monitor compliance with IPHS standards and take necessary actions.
