Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Leaders Attend Natwar Singh’s Last Rites
New Delhi, August 12: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and other leaders attended the last rites of former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh at Lodhi Cremation Centre in New Delhi.
Natwar Singh passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on the night of August 10, following a prolonged illness. He was 93 years old.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “Natwar Singh was a bold and courageous person. He always expressed his views fearlessly which were in the best interests of the country and society. I pay tribute to Natwar Singh. May god give strength to the family of Natwar Singh to bear the loss.”
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda added, “He made a place for himself in his administration services and politics. Everyone trusted him. Throughout his life, he served the country.”
Earlier today, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also paid tribute to Natwar Singh at Lodhi Cremation Centre.
Natwar Singh had a distinguished career in diplomacy and politics, serving as the External Affairs Minister from 2004 to 2005 in the Cabinet of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1984.
