This marks the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that sisters could meet their brothers for the festival at the jail. Security arrangements were made to ensure a smooth celebration.

Prime Minister Modi’s Celebration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with schoolgirls tying rakhis on his wrist in the national capital. He extended his wishes to the people, praying for everyone’s happiness and prosperity. PM Modi posted on X, ‘Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolising the immense love between brother and sister. President Murmu’s Greetings

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings on the festival, emphasizing the bond between siblings. She said the festival instills a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters. In a post on X, President Murmu said, ‘On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, instils a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters.’
