Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Inspects New Vande Sleeper Coach in Bengaluru
On Sunday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited BEML in Bengaluru to inspect the new Vande Sleeper Coach. He announced that the passenger operation of the Vande Sleeper Coach is expected to begin in three months. The manufacturing of the coach is complete, and it will soon leave the BEML factory.
Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of this project, stating, “We are starting on a very important journey today. After the success of the Vande Bharat chair-car, the manufacturing and designing of the Vande Sleeper was something for which all of us were waiting. That manufacturing is complete. Vande sleeper will come out from the BEML Factory in the coming days.”
He added that designing a new train is complex work and that the Vande Sleeper includes many new features. Vaishnaw also mentioned that the Vande Bharat chair-car, Vande Sleeper, Vande Metro, and Amrit Bharat will transform travel in India, reflecting the aspirations of the country under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Earlier in the day, Vaishnaw laid the foundation stone for a new hangar for standard and broad gauge rolling stock manufacturing at BEML. He also planned to interact with trainees and staff at the Multi-disciplinary Divisional Training Institute (MDDTI), Bengaluru (Railway Training Centre) at 2 pm.
