Rahul Gandhi’s Visit to Raebareli and Hyderabad
Development Meetings in Raebareli
Rahul Gandhi, the Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, chaired a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Raebareli. Aditi Singh, a BJP MLA from Raebareli, described the meeting as very positive, despite some differences. The meeting focused on development issues, as it is an administrative meeting chaired by the MP.
During his visit, Gandhi inaugurated the newly-built Shaheed Chowk and Degree College Chauraha. He also visited Shri Peepaleshwar Mahadevji Mandir and Hanuman Mandir to offer prayers. Gandhi, who won the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections by a large margin, is on a one-day visit to the district. He will also inaugurate roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Caste Survey in Hyderabad
Rahul Gandhi is also visiting Hyderabad to meet with intellectuals and stakeholders about the caste survey initiated by the Telangana state government. Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar explained that this is the first time a caste survey is being conducted in the state. Each enumerator is assigned 150 houses to survey, and decisions will be made for their benefit. The detailed caste survey is scheduled from November 6 to November 30, fulfilling an election promise.
The Congress party has consistently advocated for a caste census in the country, considering it a progressive and significant step.
