Rahul Gandhi’s Speech Sparks Heated Debate in Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha was adjourned to meet again at 11 am on Tuesday after a heated debate on Monday. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s first speech as Leader of Opposition generated significant political tension. BJP leaders accused him of lying, misleading the House, and calling the Hindu community violent. The Congress responded with counter-allegations against the Modi government.

The Rajya Sabha also saw a charged atmosphere with BJP members objecting to Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of divisive speeches. The debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address continued with PM Modi criticizing Rahul Gandhi’s comments. Home Minister Amit Shah demanded an apology from Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP over its remarks during the Lok Sabha campaign, the NEET-UG controversy, and the Agniveer scheme. He claimed that Agniveers, who serve for four years, do not receive a pension and are not called ‘jawans’ or ‘martyrs’. He also described the Hindu symbol ‘Abhayamudra’ as the symbol of the Congress party, representing fearlessness and safety, and criticized those who call themselves Hindu but talk about violence and hatred.
