Rahul Gandhi’s Speech Sparks Debate in Lok Sabha
Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, highlighted that every religion teaches non-violence and standing with the truth. He criticized the BJP for spreading fear and praised the INDIA alliance for protecting democracy and the constitution.
Gandhi’s speech in the Lok Sabha led to intense political exchanges. BJP leaders accused him of calling the Hindu community violent, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an apology. The Congress party countered these allegations, defending Gandhi’s statements.
During his speech, Gandhi also criticized the Agniveer scheme, claiming it mistreats soldiers by not providing pensions and not recognizing them as martyrs. He described the Hindu symbol ‘Abhayamudra’ as representing fearlessness and safety, which he associated with the Congress party’s values.
The debate continued in both Houses, with BJP and Congress holding press conferences to present their viewpoints.
