Rahul Gandhi’s Speech in Lok Sabha Sparks Controversy

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, delivered his first speech targeting the central government on various issues, including minorities, the NEET row, and the Agnipath scheme. However, several portions of his speech were removed from the Parliament records by the Speaker.

During his speech, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of spreading violence and hatred, which led to protests from BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. They accused Gandhi of misleading the House and demanded an apology.

Rahul Gandhi invoked religious figures like Lord Shiva, Prophet Mohammad, Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Lord Buddha, and Lord Mahavir, stating that he drew inspiration from their teachings of fearlessness. In response, PM Modi criticized Gandhi’s remarks, calling them a serious matter.

Both the BJP and Congress held press conferences to counter each other’s claims. Prominent Dalit voice Dilip Mandal dismissed Gandhi’s claims of violence against minorities, stating that the last decade has been the most peaceful time for India since independence.
