Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is set to unveil the statue of senior Congress leader Patangrao Kadam in Sangli, Maharashtra, on September 5. The event coincides with Teachers Day and will take place at the Sonhira Sugar factory in Kadegaon, Sangli district.
About Patangrao Kadam
Patangrao Kadam was a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Palus-Kadegaon constituency. He passed away in March 2019. Kadam is also known for founding Bharati Vidyapeeth, a private university in Pune.
Event Details
Senior leaders from the INDIA alliance, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, will attend the event. Congress leader Vishwajeet Kadam mentioned that a large number of activists and citizens from Kavthemahankal taluk are expected to attend.
