Rahul Gandhi Talks About Education and Unveils Shivaji Statue in Kolhapur

Rahul Gandhi’s Visit to Kolhapur: Education and Shivaji Maharaj

On October 5th, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke about the importance of history in education. He emphasized that our education system often overlooks the stories of skilled individuals, like potter Swapnil Kumhar, whom he met. Gandhi highlighted the lack of historical representation for communities like the OBCs and Dalits, stating that education is incomplete without understanding history and one’s own place.

During his visit, Gandhi unveiled a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, following a previous controversy over a collapsed statue in Malvan. He criticized the BJP, accusing them of trying to undermine the Constitution by opposing Shivaji Maharaj’s ideology. Gandhi expressed his commitment to protecting the Constitution and supporting the poor, inspired by Shivaji Maharaj’s values.

Rahul Gandhi’s visit comes ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, where the Congress is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, competing against the BJP-led Maha Yuti Alliance. The election dates are yet to be announced.
