Rahul Gandhi Says Congress Will Defeat BJP in Gujarat Like in Ayodhya

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, spoke to party workers in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He expressed confidence that the Congress and its allies in the INDIA bloc will defeat the BJP in the upcoming Gujarat assembly polls, just as they did in Ayodhya during the Lok Sabha elections.

Gandhi referred to the BJP’s loss in the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, which includes Ayodhya, and claimed that the INDIA alliance had defeated the movement started by former BJP chief LK Advani. Advani’s 1990 rath yatra aimed to gather support for building a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Gandhi criticized the recent Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, noting the absence of poor people at the event. He mentioned that prominent businessmen like Adani and Ambani were present, but no local residents were invited.

During his visit, Gandhi also met with party workers and victims of the Rajkot Gaming Zone tragedy. Meanwhile, members of the Bajrang Dal protested against his remarks on Hinduism, leading to their detention by the Gujarat Police. The Gujarat assembly polls are scheduled for 2027.
