Rahul Gandhi Discusses Haryana Elections and INDIA Bloc Alliance

In a meeting at the Congress Headquarters in New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi discussed the possibility of contesting the Haryana Assembly elections as part of the INDIA bloc. The meeting took place on Monday and was attended by key Congress members.

Challenges in Forming an Alliance

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda responded to Rahul Gandhi’s suggestion, stating that while they could offer 3-4 seats to AAP, the party was demanding more, making an alliance difficult.

The Congress discussed and finalized candidates for 49 seats, with 34 names declared. Bhupinder Hooda will run from Garhi Sampla Kiloi, and state president Udaybhan will run from Hodal. The party is yet to finalize candidates for the remaining 41 seats.

Upcoming Elections

The Haryana Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on October 5, with the counting of votes on October 8. The Election Commission of India revised the polling day from October 1 to October 5 and moved the counting day from October 4 to October 8.
