New Delhi, July 29: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, delivered a strong critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a speech on the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha. He drew parallels from the Mahabharata, claiming that the country is trapped in a ‘Chakravyuh of lotus,’ referring to the BJP’s symbol.

Atmosphere of Fear

Gandhi stated that there is an atmosphere of fear in the country, affecting farmers, workers, and youngsters. He criticized the Prime Minister for prominently displaying the lotus symbol and claimed that a new Chakravyuh had been created in the 21st century, trapping the nation.

Gandhi argued that the budget favors monopoly businesses and neglects the needs of farmers, youth, and small businesses. He accused the government of concentrating financial power and using agencies like the CBI, ED, and Income Tax departments to control the country.

Gandhi promised that the INDIA Alliance would pass a Caste Census and a guaranteed legal Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the House. He also criticized the budget for not addressing the issue of paper leaks, which he said is a major concern for the youth.
