Rahul Gandhi Celebrates 2nd Anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra

New Delhi [India], September 7: On the second anniversary of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi highlighted the journey’s success in proving that Indians are inherently loving people. He shared that the Yatra taught him the beauty of silence and the importance of truly listening to others.

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The Bharat Jodo Yatra taught me the beauty of silence. In the midst of cheering crowds and slogans, I discovered the power to tune out the noise and focus entirely on the person next to me–to truly listen. In those 145 days, and the two years since, I’ve listened to thousands of Indians from diverse backgrounds. Each voice has carried wisdom, teaching me something new, and each has represented our beloved Bharat Mata. The Yatra proved that Indians are inherently loving people. When I started this journey, I said, love will conquer hate and hope will defeat fear, today our mission remains the same – to ensure the voice of Bharat Mata, the voice of love is heard in every corner of our beloved country.’

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge praised the Yatra, saying it awakened an unprecedented public consciousness of love, mutual harmony, and brotherhood. He urged people to continue the struggle to preserve the Constitution and democracy, addressing issues like economic inequalities, inflation, unemployment, social injustice, and centralization of power.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal called the Bharat Jodo Yatra the most impactful political phenomenon of the last decade. He saluted Rahul Gandhi and the participants for their dedication, stating that the Yatra brought hope and belief in a better future. Venugopal emphasized that the journey is a continuous effort to achieve their mission.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, started in Kanyakumari on September 7, 2022, and concluded in Srinagar on January 30, covering 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories over more than 130 days.
