Rahul Gandhi and Rajnath Singh Clash Over Agniveer Scheme in Lok Sabha

In a heated debate in Lok Sabha, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh objected to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the Agniveer scheme. Singh stated that families of Agniveers who die protecting the country receive one crore rupees. He accused Gandhi of misleading the House.

Gandhi criticized the scheme, saying Agniveers are not called ‘jawans’ and do not receive pensions. He claimed the scheme creates divisions among soldiers and called Agniveers ‘use and throw laborers.’

Gandhi also accused the BJP-led government of attacking India’s Constitution and promoting violence. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah responded strongly, with Shah stating that connecting violence with any religion is wrong.
