New Delhi [India], July 1: Congress MP KC Venugopal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using Hindus for election polarization. He highlighted that Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition, explained ‘who the real Hindus are’ in his speech.

The Lok Sabha witnessed an uproar over Gandhi’s remarks about the Hindu community. Home Minister Amit Shah demanded an apology from Gandhi, stating that connecting violence with any religion is wrong.

Venugopal claimed that Sansad TV is biased towards the government and not showing the opposition. He also mentioned that Gandhi’s speech emphasized Lord Shiva and criticized the BJP for distorting his words.

During the debate on the Motion Of Thanks on the President’s Address, Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of systematically attacking the idea of India and the Constitution. He alleged that leaders resisting this attack were personally targeted and some were jailed.

Gandhi also criticized the Agniveer scheme and claimed that ministers were afraid to greet him in PM Modi’s presence. PM Modi responded by saying that democracy has taught him to take the Leader of Opposition seriously.
