Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi of Spreading Fear for 10 Years

New Delhi, India – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of running a ‘reign of fear’ for the past 10 years. He claimed that the BJP has spread fear across various sections of society by controlling agencies, institutions, and media.

Rahul Gandhi stated, “Farmers fear black laws, students are afraid of paper leaks, youth fear unemployment, small traders fear wrong GST, demonetisation and raids, patriots fear schemes like Agniveer, and people of Manipur fear civil war.” He emphasized that spreading fear is against the ‘spirit of India’ and that all religions teach not to scare others.

He also mentioned that as the Leader of the Opposition, it is his duty to present the united voice of India in the House. He urged the government to consider the opposition as an ally and work together for the country’s benefit.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra shared a video quoting Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha speech, stating that BJP and RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society. This led to an uproar in Lok Sabha, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his remarks.

Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of a systematic attack on the idea of India, the Constitution, and those who resisted this attack. He claimed that many leaders were personally attacked and some are still in jail. He also mentioned his 55 hours of interrogation by the ED.

He highlighted the ‘Abhayamudra’ symbol of Congress, representing fearlessness and safety, and criticized those who call themselves Hindu but talk about violence and hatred. Amit Shah responded by stating that connecting violence with any religion is wrong and demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi reiterated that BJP and RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society and alleged that ministers were scared of greeting him in PM Modi’s presence. PM Modi responded by saying that democracy and the Constitution have taught him to take the Leader of Opposition seriously.

Rahul Gandhi also criticized the government over the Agniveer scheme in his first speech as Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
